Today it seems that transit agencies couldn't care less about comfort.On the contrary, ridership levels have been low in the past few decades, so modern rapid transit cars (outside of New York) favor comfort over capacity - they have less standing room and fewer doors to accommodate more seats. Now that ridership is exploding, 2x2 transverse seating is proving to be a major problem. |
