If you had uploaded it would it be downstairs? :0)

Thank you. I heard it on the radio. Either they got it mixed up or I did.

Does anyone NOT think that the engineer had an ulterior motive for allowing teenage boys into his cab?

After seeing a transcript of the actual texts, it's almost impossible to deny so.

It's a possibility that deserves investigation, not a certainty.

Certified? No way.

Having to sit through endless hours on this subject, yes.
The church required this of all its priests and religious so that we would know what to look for on this issue.

Our monastery is certified as having taken steps to protect vulnerable populations.

You said the transcript read "like a XXX movie". I read it
and I would rate it PG-13 for mild obscenity.

The event is tragic enough as it is. There is no need to invent
a lurid sideline story to make it more compelling. I think you
have been brainwashed into looking so hard for patterns of abuse
that you start to see them regardless of the facts, or the lack of
facts.

We know nothing about the engineer's motives nor about what was going
through his head, besides the twisted metal of the other locomotive.

As a teenager, various adults employed in the railway industry
provided access to me to restricted areas and activities. There
was no abuse, no attempted abuse, no inapppropriate behavior, etc.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I guess I was lucky growing up in the 50's and 60's ... not only got to ride the cabs of subway and railroad locos, but also got some "handle time" from old timers when the trains were empty enough for it to be safe. And at NO time did anyone try to "grab my handles" ... I learned a lot which was extremely useful when I went to work in transit. And had this not happened, I doubt I would have been interested in it at all in the first place.

Things have changed, and sadly not for the better. :(

Guys out of Richmond VA call railfans bumpers short for peter bumpers I.E. people who masturbate to trains passing. It is a bad term and even myself who is a railfan realize and laugh to it. another term is engine freeks because lets face thats all we focus on, except subway buffs. Never heard the term foamer.

I know it's the other craft, but if you hit up the UTU site from time to time, they've pretty much settled on the descrip. After TWU, it was UTU for me with Gonerail for the short time I worked there before another gig came along. :)
