There are bellmouths between 63rd Drive & 67th Avenue for the Rockaway Branch. Woodhaven Blvd has provisions to be an express station. Per nycsubway.org

Is there any provision for the LIE branch that pops up in the 1968 Program for Action, but isn't (AFAIK) in any version of the Second System?

I believe the bellmouths for the conversion of Woodhaven Blvd to an express stop were to have been used to connect to a proposed line to run under the service roads of the LIE since the expressway intersects Qns Blvd around that point. However, other than that, there were no provisions for that branch that were constructed specifically for it.

But the LI Expressway didn't exist at that time, only Horace Harding Boulevard. Possibly those bellmouths were for a route along this street, however, right to the World's Fair at a minimum, but most likely for a possible extension to Francis Lewis or Springfield Boulevards, or the city Line. Later, the World's Fair route became an extension of the yard leads into Jamaica Yard. It's quite simple - we'll never really know and the reason those bellmouths were built, along with some others, will never actually be known. Conjectures, yes, facts, probably not. I have the very detailed PSC books from most years, but have never seen any reference to any bellmouth anywhere, so although they were built, in many cases, no one knows why.

Well, all the Second System plans that we have seem to suggest that it was not (and that has to be the default assumption, seeing as the alternative Horace Harding Blvd (BMT) line included is fairly consistent). But this is easily contradicted if someone knows of an iteration of the Second System that includes a branch at that point.

That may be and probably was true, and I'm certainly not disagreeing with it. They were just my thoughts on the subject.

As to the location of the trolley barn, no one has given any serious answer to this so I'll have to let the "trolley barn detectives" continue their assignment. There were so few trolley barns in Queens I just can't believe no one has come up with the answer, especially since so many on the board may have passed right in front (or in back of) it recently due to another transportation-related event.

Don't forget to say your prays before sleeping. Maybe in your dreams you'll have an apparitions of where the trolley barn is. Come on, guys, there were so few of them. All it takes is a little research in a published trolley book that I'm reasonably certain many of us have. There's even a photo of it in there.

I didn't say that they were built for the LIE at the time of construction. What they were built for was the possible conversion of Woodhaven Blvd to an express station. What I did infer was that since they were already there anyhow and in about the right location, they might as well be used for a connection to an LIE transit line.

I know you didn't say that; it was just a thought on my part. I had heard about the possibility of conversion before also but since the bellmouths were so near to Horace Harding Boulevard, perhaps they could have served a double purpose - for an express stop and to lead into HH Blvd. The thoughts of those who designed the IND have long been buried along with them.....

That is unfortunate. I wish there was some more detailed documentation as to exactly what the planners of the "second system" had in mind.

From the drawings Joe Korman has published, from the two versions of the overview map at Wikipedia, from the descriptions down to numbers of tracks of one particular version at nycsubway.org, and from the details of certain segments (such as east of Euclid) in ERA bulletins, I am sure there must be more documentary evidence out there, if only we knew where to look.
