Posted by 6 Train on Sun Dec 20 15:54:47 2009 While on the C at 168th me and my dad were talking to the motorman about how the R32's are going to be gone soon. And then he said that he saw a R179 at Pitkin, he said there was only one car though. He also said that last night at midnight they were running it on the A on the express run from 168th.So if you have special privliages on how to get into Pitkin please check it out and post pics. -keep on foaming |

They haven't even designed the R-179 yet, much less prototyped it. And it's not so great a stretch that they even need to build a prototype for it before they start making them once the contract is released. Sounds like a bored motorman to me. :) |

Isn't also moving cars in pairs (2 cars only) against the rules because the train would gap out? I've seen that done at 207th Street Yard with the R38 museum pair by itself so that got me questioning. |
