Posted by rtype3995 on Thu Oct 28 10:29:41 2010 Yes this is true.....now if a person has a ebt card,they can buy a metrocard from the vending machine and use their ebt card to pay for it.....personally I think this is a bad idea to let them use their ebt cards to pay for metrocards; it has scam written all over it....thoughts? Opinions? |

They're like ATM cards, in that PIN numbers are required. As for the fraud potential, it's the same as anything else they can pay for with the card; there's always the chance that they'll sell whatever they bought for cash. |

True but with your credit card you don't have ur personal info on the card and a credit card is much easier to replace and done with 1 call, whereas since an EBT is gov't issued I imagine a more difficult process |

Many people with EBT cards that have also cash child support money, are required to work and a metro card for transporttion to their job. The card itself does not have personel information on it but allows medical info to be obtained with a pin at a computer |
