I have to go to 57 and check THAT out tomorrow...it looks pre-1976, complete with E service to the Rockaways!

Let's see how fast the MTA goons find it and remove it. Hope not though!

Apparently, it's a different one from the one I photographed a little over 10 years ago.

I posted a link to this photo (obviously at a different location) on this SubTalk thread. This is most likely a different position in the station.

The routes that I see listed are as follows:

IRT: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, SS-42, SS-SF
IND: A, AA, B, CC, D, E, EE, F, GG
BMT: J, K, LL, M, N, QB, RR, SS-Fr, SS-Cl

It obviously reflects service as it was in the mid-1970's, the absence of the 8 train definitely puts this map around 1974. The K service that it shows runs from the Eastern Parkway station in East New York to the 57th Street/6th Avenue station in Manhattan.

I wonder. It's been 10 years since we've heard reports of a Vignelli map appearing in this station. Will we be hearing an almost identical story again in 2020? Only time will tell.

As far as I'm concerned, the best system maps are the old Hagstrom maps of the 1940s through 1950s.
