So ... did Party Marty get Bob some funding? Is he going to push the city to get Bob his digging permit? And what about Naomi? :)Curious that none of the articles describe what kind of arrangement Bob and Marty made ... that would be the actual news here ... |

Yes that is him next tour is 9/12 the site says 9/26.But, this whole thing about him ending the tours and leaving Brooklyn was just a ploy I knew he wasn't just packing it in. Few people after doing all he did is just gonna walk away. |

Bob was never going to leave he wanted attention. I would like to know about Marty's involvement. I used to know someone who worked in his office and will reach out to him and see if he is still there and if he can tell me the scoop and report back here. |

It is a pretty decent blog I have read Microbrooklyn's stuff before it is usually ok. When this topic first came up I said right away he wasn't going anywhere. |

I know Party Marty's former partner, but he doesn't come around here anymore. Went to work for the Empty-yay instead. Heh.Nah, from what I know of talking to Bob a long way back, he was serious about "screw this noise" ... Bob's kind of a unique and interesting guy. I have this feeling that Marty came up with something tangible to put a smile on Bob's face but the reporter for that rag never bothered to perform a proper story monster shakedown. |

Didn't see anything in the source that would be questionable, other than the fact that our cub reporter failed to find out what the future holds. For Bob to turn course like that, there had to be some sort of deal. A real reporter would try to find out from either Bob or Marty what it was, depending on who was able to disclose. Even reporting that "I asked what arrangements had been made and Diamond had no comment." That would be a minimum requirement for any such story. |

Well, I sent an e-mail to someone I know in his office to find out, but that is dependent on if he still works there I assume he does, but we haven't talked in a little while but will report back when I hear from him.But TBH I still feel this was a ploy because IDK if I did all that work to not only find out about the tunnel, dig it out and for years give tours of it, I cannot imagine him wanting to walk away from it. You have a different take on him from what I have heard from others. I know one of his volunteers who helped him dig out the tunnel after he first found it, as well as folks who went on the tour and some referred to him as a schemer, and that is why I saw this coming the whole "retiring' was just a smokescreen. Not saying you are wrong, just explaining why I feel the way I do. |

Not a problem ... and there's nothing wrong with walking away from things that are more trouble than they're worth. In fact doing so is often a sign of mental health. :) |

I will hopefully hear from the guy I know, but I think he did get something from Marty and think that was what he was after to begin with. |

I met him once and he is funny. He had me and others roaring in laughter. But, yeah I do agree he may not play along. At least knowingly. |
