Brighton Line Shutdown-2 weekends

Brighton line work is expected on weekends Sept 10-September 13 and September 24-27(9:30pm Fri-5A Monday).
The work requires "Q" terminating at Prospect Park. Shuttle buses would be provided featuring two services:

Local to Kings Highway
non stop to Kings Hwy stopping at Flatbush/Nostrand Av and then all stops to Coney Island.

I can see "B" service ending early those wknds. My question is this:Does anyone know what work is being done exactly to shut down from Prospect Park to coney Island? If it was Newkirk Av only then service provided from Kings Hwy to Coney Island is doable.
Whats going on?

Reactivation of A1 between Cortelyou and Kings Highway. Deactivation of A2 in the same region.

Next weekend's work would likely involve removing the temporary crossover between A1 and A3 south of Cortelyou and establishing straight rail there, in preparation for re-opening the platforms at stations from Avenue H through Kings Highway.

Between that weekend and the weekend at the end of the month, possible work would include removal and relocation of the temporary platforms at Avenue J and Kings Highway.

The work at the end of the month would likely be removal of straight rail between Kings Highway and Cortelyou to establish a crossover from A4 to A2 there.

By the end of the month, northbound platforms at stations from Kings Highway to Avenue H will close for rehab.

B service doesn't run on weekends. It is a Monday-Friday service.

The original poster is inferring B service ending early Friday of those weekends.
Please use common sense.

I can agree since I ride the Brighton every day. Newkirk Ave is being prepared for service on A1, they also re-ballest a lot of A1 between Newkirk and the Hwy. They also have to use the weekend to test out power and signals when they bring A1 back into service.

here's the plan for the 13th to the 24th

A1 and A2 take trains between KH and PP
A3 and A4 closed for that segment.

South of KH they're showing 4 tracks open with local Q and exp B service. odd.

I just rode thru the Brighton, I can not believe any of this will be possible in 12 days. Many of the stations to be reopened do not have complete platforms or stairs

Despite indications to the contrary - Friday is not part of the weekend.

Actually, Friday from 6:00 PM on is considered part of the weekend by most people even though technically you are correct.
