In some transportation contracts, "consultants" are hired to do the design and possibly other work and are paid a percentage of the total costs. Thus it is to their advantage to make any project as expensive as possible. A great example of this that took place is Pittsburgh's way overbuilt catenary. |

Trains run every 5 and a half minutes if that's what you mean. Also the blue line is in the process of replacing every substation. One every 2 months for the next few years. They've done 1 or 2 so far. |

The plan it to run every 5 minutes in the next year or two. When Expo opens all the way to Santa Monica in 2015/2016 it will also run every 5 minutes giving the blue line 24 tph on Flower. |

With 25kV 60Hz AC catenary, substations are every 20 miles. And much of the DART is on former commuter railroad right of way. Talk about waste and overspending. |

Just a curiosity, since you mention about photographing the Green Line extension in 12/10.I reside in Irvington NY, walking distance to the station. |

Did Fort Worth SW to NE commuter rail line get funding for construction? The Metroplex looks like a nice place to railfan, with DART light rail extensions, TRE commuter rail, soon to open Denton County A Train, and McKinney Ave streetcar. |

You get a different answer depending upon who you ask. The Fort Worth “T” currently has plans to operate rail service by 2013 on the western half of the Cotton Belt between Fort Worth and the airport as part of its Southwest/Northeast project. |
