The R-32s were at East NY for inspection and repairs. Pitkin Shop and East NY Shop have been picking up some of the R-32 maintenance for 207th St. due to a temporary shortage of car inspectors at 207th St. They were not sent to East NY with the intent of running in the east, in service. |

Obviously it wasn't meant to be on the (J) so now its back to (C) and the R44s left in service to bow out now.Still i would have liked it to get some Rsh hr use on the (Z) and it would have not needed full/all day use. |

They were there for maintance purposes only.I don't know where some of you guys get your ideas from. Particularly YOU. |

"But you'd have to understand about picks and contracts to understand why."I'll never understand that. I work for a company of five full-time employees and one part-time employee. None of us has a contract. If my boss says I'm going to 207 St because a client is there with a broken computer, I get my map out and start on my way. If I tell him that the client has to bring the computer to me because I picked Carle Place, I might be taken to the woodshed at the least. Not belittling public employees, just saying how things are on the other side. |

"Wouldn't sending the car inspectors to 207 St be easier than moving the cars to ENY?""No! But you'd have to understand about picks and contracts to understand why." My sister works for the Postal Service. I started telling her this story this afternoon, and I only got as far as saying that I thought moving the car inspectors to 207 St was easier than moving the cars to ENY when she interrupted me and said, "No way-- they didn't bid for 207 St!" But she also said that a "detail" could have been made for 207 St. I presume that would only work if the contract allows it, of course. One day, I have to get myself a contract... |
