June 6th Low-V Trip |
|
Posted by blue8IRT on Sun Apr 18 15:33:54 2010 I have had a horrible last 8 days because my PC was invaded. Security Toll took over my PC and I've finally gotten it straightened out. I had to get another password and handle because of this. I have been trying to call the Transit Museum as well to try and reserve a spot on the Low-V trip. I need help. Does anyone know the best way to go about this? I tried calling the museum and get recordings. I am really hot to go on this trip but I am getting nowhere. Any suggestions, please? |

But that went to the "HER". I have a Dell which I love. May first, cool. Thank you. But, how do I get it done? Who do I see, call, etc.? |

The post earlier was leaked information that was not technically supposed to be public yet.If you're not going to get a mac, run Linux. |

Computer security---Was: June 6th Low-V Trip |

Don't know about him, but the LION hides all of his computers behind a Router. Behind that is the UNTANGLE server. Behind that each computer has ESET NOD32 anti virus software.Still peeps go to stoopit websites and click where they should not. Fortunately most msis cannot install on our XP machines and the Vista and Win 7 boxes are even tighter. Still the LION wonders. LIONs always wonder (mostly about their next meal). I got a strange Face-book invite from some sort of a female creature that I do not know, but all of the people that were listed as friends of hers were also known to me including Dave Pirmann, and other people who have no relation to Sub Chat, and NONE of whom are in my address book. But there were pictures of these peoples and they were the correct pictures, and they were pictures that I do not have on my computer. If anybody has knowledge of such FaceBook scams, let the LION know, and he will send some of his felids out to EAT the scammers. ROAR |

Fazebook is yet another in the family of fine Rupert Murdoch petrie dishes, a digital biohazard of the highest odor ... many many nasties come and go amidst his sites because he's unwiling to hire the competent and keeps on cashing checks from the "advertisers" that pay him to spread them. :( |

Will collect later, that machine is in the middle of a code build right now ... will get back as soon as it's done ... 'bout another hour or so. |

I got my 'member preview' over the weekend; the last line said not to post the info on the internet. Of course, someone claiming to be from NYTM posted here days before...And a Mac doesn't make you invulnerable. A stupid user is STILL a stupid user. |

Nah ... it's for the KNOS operating system thing which I'm stil building. The machine in question is an old 32 bit box and unfortunately, I need to build both a 64 and 32 bit version of the OS. So I use that machine for the 32 builds while the other 64 bit machine chews away at its build. 84,000 files in the OS and each one has to be compiled again on a big build. So that ties it up for a while. :) |

There are now four systems for any incoming foreign matter to deal with and I'm satisfied. Anyway, thank you all for the info. Looking forward to the trip. |

The person claiming to be from NYTM who posted here last week was legit. The email address in the post matched that of someone who works at the museum and handles membership. The only reason the NYTM rep posted here is because someone else leaked info on the trips. |
