WMATA Service: Mon 2/8/2010 |
Posted by Dupont Circle Station on Sun Feb 7 21:23:32 2010 Metro announced their service plan for Monday, Feb. 8, 2010.Metrorail: Underground only; 7AM-Midnight; trains every 30 minutes. Metrobus: Extremely limited service on Snow Emergency Routes only. 9AM-7PM. The Federal Government is closed. Most other businesses follow the Feds and will be closed as well. Other than the main roads, the suburbs are difficult or impossible to get in or out. In other words: Stay home, stay safe. Let the cleanup get further along before trying to go anywhere. Especially the jagoff suburbanites who have been learning bigtime that having 4WD does not mean you can do 75 on the Beltway while yapping on your phone with 20+ inches of snow and ice without spinning out or wrecking. |

"Metrorail: ...trains every 30 minutes."Just lovely. Tomorrow is going to be fun for us lucky ones who do have to work. I'll pack a few extra comic books in preparation since there's no way to guess when that half-hourly train will show up. Whoopie. |

I have the iGoogle app for the real-time station arrival info from WMATA.com, but as far as I can tell, it has been acting up and completely inaccurate since WMATA went into its snow emergency plan. I'll check it again when the system starts back up (long before I have to even think about trudging off to work) to see if there is anything vaguely accurate as far as arrival times. |
