Are you kidding me? look around at any station that is an open cut or elevated, there is graffiti below the platforms on the roof of the stations and on virtually any surface the MTA does not constantly keep up with. Take a ride over to 4th Avenue on the F and look around. Even in the dark days of the 1970's and 1980's there was never all of the graffiti that is there today. |

The BUs that ran on the els had trolley poles for street running. Not only did the Myrtle Av have surface running but before the el structures were complete, the Culver, Jamaica and I believe also the West End had trains of el cars running on the surface under trolley wire. |

But, comeon how often are you going to bring this same thing up? I am sorry normally I do not object to what folks post here but comeon enough is enough. It is getting the cause no where. If you want it to change do something. Start a letter writing campaign, go to MTA meetings, etc. But, constantly bring it up here in the slim chance that an MTA person reads it and cares is not going to work, sorry. Honestly, even if one of them does read your comments, they will see most here aren't chiming in so they will not care. There are better ways for you to get your message to them. Again, if you don't like it don't ride the system, period. |

The homes in front of Grover Cleveland HS are hit regularly b/c kids want their tags to be seen be as many fellow students as possible.Ridgewood still has problems with it for some reason. |

The steam surface lines used trolley wire in part, when they converted to electricity. These included portions of the Brighton, West End, Sea Beach, Culver, Canarsie, Myrtle and Norton's Point. These operations were all PRW. The Jamaica operation was different in that it was street running and created adverse public reaction. The Dual Contract expansion essentially put an end to such operations. The lines were placed in deep cuts, on embankments, on elevated pillars or converted to trolley car operation. |
