No Eating or Drinking on Subway

Trash is a big problem and expense for the MTA. I have seen people leave trash on trains, platforms etc. Trash attracts rats and creates a terrible atmosphere. I have seen people with hot cups of coffee sipping it on a train and the train jerks. Then the hot liquid spills on a passenger. I say eliminate food and beverages on subways, busses and stations.

Good luck trying to enforce that rule. People are stilling walking between cars..they just don't care.....since there is no one around to enforce that rule.

Remove the rubber gaskets, But the newer units don't have this and the R-32's and 42's don't either. So it makes no sense to lock them. 75' cars (except the some R-44's)have the end doors locked but have rubber gaskets arobd the window in case of emergency.

No, they shouldn't be locked, because then people would be trapped. The doors are locked on the 75' cars because passing between 75' cars on curves is dangerous. Those cars have doors that can be unlocked remotely.

Yes on the 44's & the 46's there is a vapor key switch in the cabs that a crew mwmber can turn to unlock all storm doors. During the relays at CTL when the t/o has to go from one end to the other the c/r uses that switch for the t/o. I have seen that myself doing relays at CTL with a c/r friend of mine
