I for one would never get tired of the old timers. I remember them well and was thankful to ride them again five years ago during the centennial. Music to my ears!:) |

Too Bad they did not restore the original colors, doors & thin blue lt blue stipe on the side.I cannot wait for the R-62 to make it to the transit museum. I wonder if they will leave the interior walls which are destroyed with scratchitti as is? Maybe they should have left the scratched and acid etched glass on #4280 & #4281 in tact as well? Maybe they should have left the original graffiti on the other trains that are in the museum? |

Yeah the original colors would be nice.It will be years until they retire the R62's, I hope they retire the R143/R160/R42's first though :-) Yeah I know wishful thinking. My guess it will still have whatever it is like when the time comes, but maybe will preserve it to be clean. No graffiti in the museum please. There are enough pictures and books that show graffiti. |

If they want to run the trains in only the underground portions of the system [to avoid possible weather hazzards like snow], I think they could run the TOMC from 96th to South Ferry. North of 96th, they could relay the train back on the unused middle track at 103rd. |

I wonder if they will leave the interior walls which are destroyed with scratchitti as is?Most likely left alone, the redbirds that are a part of the museum fleet still have vandalized windows from when they was in service! |

They probaly put a paper in the window saying something like this....Museum cars do not scrap! I remeber seeing a photo of the R38 museum pair and it had an paper in the window saying something along those lines. |

My proof is that last week when I was riding the Q past the coney yard I saw the 1-9 consist sitting outside and it looked like they recently did work on them. So most likely yes. |

Does anyone know the Nostalgia train schedule for this December?I searched this thread and it says the press release will be coming out very soon. A search on the NYCTA website gave me an old link for last year which was invalid. Thanks in advance. |
