Not a surprise; the pair being saved is 4028-4029 (which has been linked up to other museum cars in 207th Street Yard).

Actually 3950 was part of a pair that was saved for work service. I guess they decided to scrap them finally when they retired the R-40M's and saved one of their pairs for work service.

To me, Borgaschmord trains are a mix of different IND/BMT SMEEs. Unlike their IRT counterparts, some of these fleets don't blend well cosmetically except for R-16/27-30, R-32/38 or R-40M/42 combinations.

Perhaps replacing scratch glass ? I'm sure there's some leftover replacement windows for the R-42s since the fleet is dwindling.

Thanks :P

She and I were sentimental when the slants ran last. It was on both our lines for the A (prior GOH) and the (post GOH) L and in the end the slants came back to the A to serve out their remaining days.

So they been a part of our lives for much of our childhood and even adulthood.

I'm gonna put together some sort of music vid with the pictures and footage from the transit museum when I get back tomorrow :D
