And when did Moses start exerting influence over the subway system?
Clearly he's at fault for some projects never done.
But some of the projects were before his time.

You can build subways IF you don't have the money...and Moses was able to secure PLENTY of it for "HIS PROJECTS"...and very little for rail lines...

Why are thereno tracks over the George Washington Bridge..even though it was planned to have one...?
Why didn't the BOT finish the Van Wyck Blvd subway BEFORE the Hillside route..even though the later was planned FIRST..
Why were plans for the line cancelled while the Queens residents were told to clearly expect the line by 1940.

You see...he was nuts.

No, it wasn't. What happened was Sheldon Silver said that since the legislation affected the city, the city had to tell the assembly that they could move forward on it.

The city wasn't about to let that happen.

The secession movement grew out of the abolishing of the Board of Estimate, which significantly changed city government. The Board of Estimate was abolished when the US Supreme Court decided that it violated the 14th Amendment.

One solution to this would be to build a tunnel to Staten Island from South Ferry that would have 1 trains extended to Staten Island, perhaps running on a revamped SIRT line where stations and platforms would accomodate 10 IRT-sized cars.
