Wait for Freight! |
|
|
Posted by ebtmikado on Fri Nov 6 12:55:37 2009 It isn't only on the freight railroads where Amtrak trains are made to wait for freight trains. This morning at around 11:00 AM, Acela 2159 had to wait at Guilford station, on the Northeast Corridor for Providence & Worcester train NR-2 to go east, with about 20 loadsof stone for Old Saybrook. There was only one track open between here and Branford, a distance of about 9.5 miles, due to brush cutting by Amtrak. As you can hear, my dog, Dino doesn't like to see freights delaying passenger trains anymore than I do! I'll have some still shots later. http://www.flickr.com/photos/33786891@N02/4080174861/ Enjoy, Lee |
