There's a track replacement project on the Flushing El that has been going on for a couple of weeks now. When I see an uncovered power rail like the one in the picture, I think that it's recently installed track. AFAIK, they haven't been installing new track around 111th Street. |

Unlike during your time, c/r's no longer go on the put-in's with the t/o. If the train was laid up from V service previously, the t/o, all by himself, had to change 50 signs (5 per car): V to R, Second Ave. to 95 on both sides and V to R on the end signs. This is very time consuming. On the side signs, the brown diamond R is the first R you come to after the V. The yellow round R is on the other side of the roll vs. the V.I would not call the t/o lazy, as 45 minutes is not enough time to change the signs and check out the train according to school car instructions. OMG: the evil rulebook! |
