Victory division(Red arrow), is still working and collecting paychecks. That union always reaps the benefits of a city contract and does nothing to help the cause of their city brothers.
UTU 1594 should go out on strike to show solidarity.Pickets lines are forming at major SEPTA city terminals.

No, the UTU is the Delaware County/Chester County suburban transit division of SEPTA, aka the "Red Arrow" (officially known as Victory). They have striked along with the TWU beforehand, most notably in the 2005 strike.

I'll be frank. I have no sympathy anymore and this was a dirty way to do it. THANK GOD I had my car to drive today, or I would've been stranded.

You have the governor, congressman, Mayor, and SEPTA trying to work things out. Things wer progressing, and then you call a damn strike at 3 AM, crippling the city. People wake up, thinking the threat of a strike is averted, and then realize they have no way to get to work this morning.

Great for the economy and workforce!

I'm tired of the TWU crying for something like this all of the time. But I'll welcome the additional ridership on the rushbus system...

That union always reaps the benefits of a city contract and does nothing to help the cause of their city brothers.

Unions are by definition selfish organizations, that one would not support the other for it's own benefit is deliciously ironic to this vocal critic of organized labor. SEPTA employees have decided to screw thousands of their Philly brothers with this reckless act. Fuck 'em.

And I remember that strike very well, as it messed up my viewing of the 1998 World Cup, since in order to do the horse racing newsletter I was doing at the time, I had to practically every day make a 90-minute walk to get my Daily Racing Form to do analysis for the tracks I needed to at that time. These days fortunately I get the DRF Online, so that's not an issue.

At least the Breeders' Cup is this weekend.

I just learned an interesting fact. SEPTA keeps an EL train running on one hour headways during the strike to ferry management employees from either FTC or 69th St to center city. Management parks their cars at either end of the EL. I would assume they do the same for the Broad st. subway.
So if the strike is called off, the system can get up and running, depending when the drivers/operators can get back in to report.
