Agreed 100% I too am a NY Mets fan. My family were Brooklyn Dodgers Fans, and then the natural progression was to become NY Mets Fans.I am a third generation Brooklynite. My Wife is from South Philly but we live in Brooklyn USA. Her family are all Philly fans. I clearly am not. In 1996 I wanted a world championship for NY. SInce my team was out of it (As if that is breaking news) I decided to route for the NY Yankees. I was not born in the 1950's when the Yankees crushed the Dodgers every year. After that win in 1996, the team took on a certain swagger that they were supposed to win every year. They opened their checkbook and no matter what they had to win. I still was not a Yankee hater. Then the final straw was the Joe Torre situation. THey sent this guy packing after all of that success. THey did not even acknowledge him during the closing ceromonies at the Stadium in 2008. THat fact made me a member of the Yankee Haters association. Sorry! Go Phillies! Wow I cannot beleive I said that. |

That 3run homer by Utley in the first inning turned out be the difference........ |
