Not sure who is on the left (maybe Nathaniel Ford?), but that's Mayor Mike From Malden to Rocky's right and former MTA CEO Peter Kalikow on the far right.Unfortunately I never met Rocky one on one in my Passages Through Pitkin but did see him around. I must admit to being a bit shocked as well. Had another little surprise two weeks ago discovering that a T/O I worked with a time or two at 239 , as recently as October 3, had dropped dead age 57. I barely knew his name (Krauss?) but recognized the photo. As I learned, he collapsed at Middletown Road after signing out of an RDO job. Ouch! May Rocky R.I.P. As for a permanent commemoration, perhaps a bench or a fountain in the new park across the street from Pitkin Shop might be appropriate. Regards, George Chiasson Jr. (Widecab5@aol.com) |

At least he died doing what he loved doing. Many in transit always talk about retiring at 55 and looking forward to it but I think I may be one of those who go till I can't anymore. I love working for NYC transit. |

I hope you got hit in the head with the power poles that tipped over on your block today. Your building has no power now? Maybe you ingested some dielectric fluid from the transformers that spilled into the street... |

My great uncle Tony Onorio also worked at Coney Island shops for many years during the BMT and Board of Transportation eras. He probably knew your grandfather, too. |
