I can get OT to load in Compressed eventually, I just have to pound on it a few times :) Varies, some days (like tonight) loads first thing, other times, multiple reloads. Dunno. Obviously, Larry can't or won't fix the problem w/ OT, so I just deal.

ANGELS-YANKEES: Rain delay could reap benefits for L.A.
By Jill Painter, Staff Writer
Posted: 10/24/2009 06:47:53 PM PDT

NEW YORK - For once, the Angels could reap benefits from inclement weather.

A steady rain that caused large puddles to form all along Yankee Stadium's warning track postponed Saturday's Game 6 of the American League Championship Series until 5:20 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time today.

The Angels are down 3-2 in the best-of-seven series, but if they win today and force a Game 7, ace John Lackey will almost certainly earn the start on three days' rest. CC Sabathia already is scheduled to pitch for the third time in the series, and Sabathia has baffled the Angels twice in winning Games1 and 4.

"Obviously, I want to be in games as often as I can be," Lackey said.

A Game 7 pitting the aces against one another for the right to advance to the World Series is tantalizing - unless you're Yankees manager Joe Girardi. The Angels would not be able to start Lackey without the postponement.

"You worry about Game 6 for us," Girardi said. "Our focus is completely on Game 6. Does it give one team an advantage or not? I don't know. Maybe the extra day helps us more. I'm not really sure."

Lackey watched some college football Saturday before going to the ballpark, and he said he was going to watch USC's game against Oregon State later that night. It's clear the Angels are still basking in the momentum created by their 7-6 comeback win in Game 5 that sent the series into this drizzling mess.

Torii Hunter would have rather been playing,

but he joked about how he might spend his day.
"(Today), it's supposed to be sunny," Hunter said. "That will give me a chance to work on my tan here in New York."

There wasn't much time for managers and players to play the will-we-play or won't-we-play game Saturday since the game was called by Major League Baseball at about 6 p.m. Eastern time. Joe Saunders and Andy Pettitte were both scheduled to start Saturday, and both are still scheduled to pitch today. Girardi could have opted to start Sabathia on regular rest but stuck with Pettitte.

It rained here Friday night and steadily all day Saturday and into the night, cramming subways with people, causing delays and jamming traffic. Forecasters have predicted sun and 60-degree temperatures for today and Monday, should there be a Game 7.

"We've got to get there first," Lackey said. "I'll be available (today). That's all I know."

Angels general manager Tony Reagins informed Angels manager Mike Scioscia about the cancellation while he was talking to reporters before the game.

"This changes things," Reagins said. "It gives us more options. Our bullpen is refreshed ... In theory, we could (start Lackey). We haven't had that discussion yet. I'm sure that will be a topic."

Jeff Mathis wouldn't have minded playing in the rain Saturday. He grew up in Florida after all, where it rains often.

"I've been around it all my life," Mathis said. "It stinks (to play baseball in it) because every time the ball hits the ground it gets wet ... As a kid, everybody loves playing in it."

The former high school quarterback ran the option in high school, so rain didn't bother him.

Hunter was disappointed there was no game, but he understood.

"Trust me, if we hate the rainout I'm sure the Yankees hate it," Hunter said. "We're feeling pretty good, and we wanted to keep it going."

 The Angels don't have the benefit of a momentum from game 5.
It's a clean slate for both teams.
