Rocky was actually the second current Pitkin Shop employee lost to natural causes this month so the shop mood had been somber (for want of a better word) even before Rocky's passing. The Office of the Chaplain was very supportive on Friday when I broke the news to the people of the shop - as they have been since we found out how gravely ill Rocky was. Since he had a very small family, a memorial honoring Rocky for Department of Subways employees is being planned. The men & women of Pitkin Shop are also planning another public memorialization for this icon of the transit family. |
