No, it narrows to two, then exands for three at Bedford, then expands to four, the middle tracks descending to a dead end. This was for a connection to the Myrtle/Central/Rockaway line. |

That's something like the way the Hoyt/Schermerhorn complex was built. From what I have heard, the current parking lots between Schermerhorn and State Streets were just empty lots with not buildings on them in the 1930s. As a result the large station at Hoyt was able to be built with a minimum of resistance from area residents since there were none to speak of. Also in Manhattan, 6 Av did not extend much farther south than W3 St until the IND was built when it was extended south to meet Church St at Canal St. |
