It appears Option II R-160B's 9803-9872 will be assigned to Coney Island in their place.9803-9807 arrived at Coney Island last Friday evening. Don't yet know for sure but my guess is these 70 have Siemens propulsion despite proclamations to the contrary. Then it makes sense, as 9103-9162 are universal with the Alstom-equipped cars already being assigned to Jamaica, while 9803-9872 would be compatible with the Siemens equipped cars (8848-9102) already at CIY. The advance transfer might be to get the R-32/40M/42's from Jamaica off the road faster...OR it could be to free up more R-46's for the A. Someone else out there might have better info. That Explains It, I think the R40M/42's will Leave faster and the (E) is Mostlikely 100% R160, I am going to look for an R32 the most if not R40M/42 During the PM Rush, If more R46's goes to the (A), That means no More R32's on the (A) until the Fall. |

I just have a few questions. Have most of these sets been transferred to JAM already, or will one set be transferred when one new set arrives at CI? If it's the first one I'm assuming that CI will be strapped for spare cars as they're giving away 70 cars like that. Also, why isn't it an even transfer? Jamaica gets 60, CI gets 70. |

Rode on 9123 twice in the span of 24 hours. Once yesterday during the PM rush and this morning during the AM rush. Both times it had problems. Last night was minor in that the ceiling signage was displaying an F and 179th St Jamaica. The FIND and announcements were otherwise working fine. This morning though, the FIND was stuck on Forest Hills, and so were the announcements. They even took off the E on the front of the train. |
