New camera advice. |
Posted by NJCL2308 on Sat Jun 27 00:46:21 2009 My trusty camera, a Samsung S73 w/7.2 MPs, kicked it today, presumably due to water damage. The lens won't open and won't retract unless I gently push it shut manually. Its first trip was on 12/26/07 Its last trip was on 6/26/09 Ironically, both trips were to Huntington, LI. So, I need advice-I want a point-and-shoot that cost less that $150 that takes videos and has good MPs. |

If you need it today it's 5 bucks more at J&R. Both B&H and J&R are excellent sources of photo gear. I think it covers the bases you mentioned, plus it's better than the camera you're replacing. your pal, Fred |

Almost any camera today will fit your bill (at under $150.00) Better features appear on better cameras. LION thinks $400.00 is a good price to pay for a camera.Look at them all carefully, the difference at that price will not be in picture quality as it will be in ergonomics and ease of use. Find one with the features you want, and is easy to use. My $400. camera (donated to us new) is excellent, but has many features that I do not use, and some that I want to use but are either complicated or that I have flat out never bothered with. The features that I do use are easily found on your $150.00 camera. ROAR |
