I've seen about 4 R42 sets on the J line..so all of the 160's A-1 can't be out there...in service.

Any reason why they are MIA?

The east is holding 50 R-42s pending the end of the Option II order. The original number was 64 additional cars for the east but that might have changed.

No - it's just that the 4-car links are due after the 5 car links.

Oh ok, cuz I was wondering that if the M no longer runs to Bay Parkway: would it would free up a good number of R160's to cover all J/L/M/[Z] service?

The M is really not needed rush hour to bay parkway unless they run some express. But the MTA should hold a D train at bay parkway in case there is a major delay in D service.

I took the D to CI last year every day transfering to the F to get to work. M trains were half empty

8313-8320 have been equipment with CBTC and is now going thought the first round of testing. I took 2 shots of the under car equipment on 8313. If you look at NYCSubway.org you can see it for your self. I will try to get more once I see the cars out of the barn and sitting in the yard.
