It should also be pointed out that there are only 466 stations (both Cortland St stations being closed at the moment).Since the record requires that they stop at every station - any new record would have to be with an asterisk. |

Since the record requires that they stop at every station - any new record would have to be with an asterisk.IMO, and as I believe both Guinness and the Amateur New York Subway Riding Committee probably believe, it is understood that the subway system is always changing, and that no two record attempts will ever be done in identical conditions. Thus, you can go for the record at any time you want, you just have to meet the requirements of the record as per how the system exists on those days you are trying to set the record. If that understanding was not held by all involved, then there would be no point in having this "record". |

The new subway kings weren't about to share their formula for crisscrossing the subway system in record time."The route is like our secret sauce," Solzarz said. "We're keeping it to ourselves." Another bunch of wusses. When I broke the record back in 2005, I put the entire log online. It takes a lot more than just a great route to accomplish the best time. Taking a single bathroom break is a good start. I might have to start preparing to reclaim the record later this year, while I'm still eligible (currently counting down the days until I get THE CALL) |
