How would all of this have been resolved so quickly? Would they have to had pleaded guilty immediately? Was it also faster because they were juveniles (were they all)? The incident of moving the train on the Brighton took weeks/months to resolve. |

I know of several instances from the 50's and 60's where some railfans vandalized equipment even on fantrips. These guys are probably in their sixties and seventies now.
