So is the A line actually running express in Brooklyn (since the F is picking up the slack for the C train on the Fulton Street part)?

Yes, the A will be express. This G.O. Means that I will be doing Station Switching at 168 if the Screw Office keeps up what they have been doing to me.

Yeah if the screw office keeping doing what they do best they send me to Bedford PK or some where else for a Switching job but its ok they paying me an Early report from my reg time to the other assignments start time and traval time. I guess the MTA got money to spend?
It would make sense for them to keep me at my reguler location so they don't have to pay traval time but hey its for the good of the service I guess when they got 4 added switching jobs with the G.O at my location. I really don't care for switching because its boring I rather work and go down the road its instead of look at my watch and figuring out who going to take the next relay.

Not necessarily for clearing at foreign terminals but they get a deadhead allowance added to the early report for reporting at a foreign terminal. If the deadhead time from a foreign terminal back to their scheduled clearing location involves overtime then they get paid for any part of it that goes past 8 hours unless it is already included in the allowed time for their run.

Let me tell you something. The C crews get screwed. Put yourself into their shoes. They work weekends, that's part of the job. But some of us are family people. Especially on weekends, we want to go to work at our picked time and location and finish on time at our picked time and location so we can spend time with our kids. We don't want to have a job on the C line, say at 168 from 7 to 3 and get reassigned to say Continental from 9 to 5. 2 hours later and the additional travel time isn't worth it to some employees. Blood money. Sure, if the guy has no life then it's ok I suppose.

Remeber you also have to call Time Keeping to get your job pay, since it pays more then the Switching Jobs they give us. I make out like a bandit. 1:33 for the Board Time, 9:27 for the Job. If they send me to some were else then put in Dead Head time and posable more Board time. Ya I guess the TA does have money to wast.

No with these GO's you have to report to your Regular Reporting location at your starting time, then you get your new jobs for the day. The TA does this just in case the GO's gets canceled at the last minute, this way the crew can not work there regular jobs.

I make sure I get my Money. I Normally Make 2-4 Hours overtime with Traval time and early Report just to do a few relays or YD Moves. I also seem to get late clears as well if they short T/O's.
You know MTA got money to burn because if they didn't they just keep us on the A/F Lines to help out Instead of reassigning us and giving Extra List people the A/F Jobs that need coverage. Why would you send C Crews reporting at 168 to other locations when they have Open A Jobs at 168 being assigned to Extra List or Road Extra Personal?? Its the same thing with Euclid the List get the open jobs at Euclid and C Line Euclid crews go packing.
I don't understand it I hate being reassigned to other location but love the money.

Unfortunately anybody who picks the C line on weekends does so on chance. At any time your job can be eliminated and you are at the mercy of the crew office. Unfortunately the work programs don't reflect that. In addition, some supplements can force an employee who picks the G or R to be extra at times as well, especially the G as all those jobs are picked out of CTL but we all know how frequently they run to there on the weekends.

Help out the rookies, especially if they're cute. :)

When I first came out, we had *sadistic* instructors who would yank out a fuse and then watch us pulling on the door rubbers while cackling out loud. For motors, there was the infamous "distract and make the reverser handle disappear trick." Sadly now, I finds out that buffs are really stealing handles. My training MEANS something! :(

Here's hoping that schoolcar didn't drop a box of bowling balls on the platform this time ... looks like it's time to "pass it on" for ya, bud ... and hey ... if you turn on the charm, you MIGHT get indication! (grin)

i didn't have to distract them foe this
they would leave the train at 125 s/b, to get water at the disp office. Sometimes they'd lock the door and sometimes they didn't

when they returned, I'd be standing right outside the door waiting for them to open the cab door and sticking their hand out

God, we still do the "distract and make the reverser handle disappear trick" at BSM.

This is best done to a newby right out of the School of Instruction. Leave the reverse bar in the controller and either the Dispatcher or an Instructor will quietly put the bar in neutral and put it in his pocket. When the guy comes back to resume the run, no reverse bar, so he runs around looking for it wildly while the supervisors laugh in the Office. After about 5 minutes the supervisor walks out with a straight face, saying "forget something" while holding the reverse bar. The newby never forgets it again.

We got to BBC late i told my C/R she should have taken over, but she wanted him to learn so..

I asked him at BBC how long has he been posting he told me it was his last day..

I told him flat out..

"You better get it right because if you are THIS slow and its not rush hour you are going to have trouble down here".

I was dead serious when i told him that i mean it was like he was reading the stations from a map or a book or something when he was making his annoucements

Pretty popular game, I'd say ... (free sheepish grin)

I disagree. When only men were operating trains=Motorman. After women started operating trains=Train Operator.

Well, that too. What year was it when they changed the name of the title?

The G goes to 8 cars when they do that G.O. I'm guessing that JAM will send out a few more R32s on the F since all an R46 will say is;

[][to EUCLID AVENUE]

An R32 can display;

[Jamaica 179 St, Queens]
[Euclid Avenue, Brooklyn]
[(F) Queens Bvld, 63 St, 6 Av]

Correct me if I'm worong on that R32 display. I tried to avoid that G.O. as much as possible by transferring to the B67 at Jay and taking it to Ditmas.
