(F):End late night service on the 63rd Street Line. Late night service will run via the 53rd Street tunnel. Late night local service is restored

Do people in Queensbridge and Roosevelt Island turn into chopped liver during late nights. What if they want to go east?

And if so, the best option may be to extend the 1 to Staten Island, and have it terminate there.

That's why I would also have a shuttle between 21st-Queensbridge or Roosevelt Island and Roosevelt Avenue. That would solve that issue.

The T to Court Street (current Transit Museum) and then via the Fulton Street line in Brooklyn as a local is something I would look at doing. That would be WAY down the road, however.

Thank you for at least giving Roosevelt Island the Q during late nights to replace the F but as was stated by another reader what happens if we want to go further East than 21st Queensbridge?

That would be WAY down the road, however.

Any line extended from Manhattan via a new tunnel will be WAY down the road.

I thought you were one of those one-off community poster types. I'm glad you proved me wrong. I'd expand the Q102 bus to run 24 hours, and extend it to Queens Plaza, to connected with the E and the F.

If theres demand, then I don't see why not.

I was planning on leaving that section closed off overnights for movie shoots. But if service needs arise, then it could operate on a 24 hour basis.

You have a point on closing part of the F line off between 21st-Queensbridge and 36th during the overnight for film shoots, however, as noted in other posts, there are people who do use the line towards Eastern Queens who north of 47-50 would have to backtrack to there in order to get the F. You would also need a shuttle running between 34th or 47-50 and 21st-Queensbridge to accomodate those who want to go to 57th/6th during the overnight, and that probably negates this idea.

I think the running the (F) there as is works fine. 53rd St doesn't need two late nights services while robbing two residential areas of full service. If it's not broken don't fix it.

The (F) should stay as is. Once the upper SAS "stubway" is built, The (Q) and (N) should both go there until the (T) gets started for the full-length line. Meanwhile a beefed up (W) running at the combined TPH of the current (N/W) would take over Astoria. (like in LION's plan). Late nights the (N) or (Q) would go to Astoria in place of the (W). Many people in Queensbridge commute to/from work from 2nd or 3rd shift jobs in Queens and it would be grossly unjust to make such a commute so miserable for no good reason. The (E) alone is more then sufficient for Ely Av and 53rd St. Queens Plaza will soon have a 24/7 (R) as well.

No reason to run the 2 express so late. Even if it's express on paper, it's running at local speed in the real world. Work gangs have to do their thing every night, and your express train will be blowing his horn and doing 10mph from Chambers to 96th.
