The secret is out :(23 St IS one of the best photography spots due to the bright white wall behind the train. Makes for much easier underground photos for the guys without wide-open lenses. |

Actually, I would guess it's because of the white wall on either side of the train. it's one of the few spots where that happens. Fulton Street on Nassau comes to mind and of course there are others. |

It does improve the shot too without the columns in the way..... Graham and Grand on the L also come to mind. I have taken a few at Graham, and they came out nice. |

Still mooing on acceleration? I used to love riding those babies on the QB lines when I was a kid. The yellow bulbs, the exposed fans, the hiss when the doors opened. Beautiful stuff. Those cars had CHARACTER. |

I still think the station that stood the test of time best is 23rd St-Ely Ave. Not only is the color scheme one of the most attractive in the system, the original tiles have held up remarkably. |

I would love to if only I could...but with three small kiddies (5 and under) going on playdates, birthday parties, ice-skating and swimming lessons and a wife vying for my attention, my free time on Sundays is limited to going to the bathroom for a few minutes. If I'm really lucky, I'll get to watch a few plays in a given Giants game.An entire Sunday dedicated to riding a subway train? I wish!! So I have to live vicariously through you guys. |

Doesn't have to be an entire Sunday, unless coming to Manhattan would ruin your whole day. You could just ride a single one-way run (about 25 minutes) or one round trip (about 90 minutes with the layover). |

Holiday lights isn't bad. But you're 1000% right about the Holiday Tree. What annoys me most is that since most people now use Holiday to describe everything being in fear of getting corrected by the politically correct mob, a smaller group comes back by doing the exact opposite with "don't say Happy Holidays, I won't shop in any store not mentioning Christmas... yahdda..yahdda..." It's just a whole back-and-forth and the same corny debates on Hannity & Colmes about it each year. I find the whole thing is very distasteful. :( |

Hopefully they will come to their senses and build the Shallow Option and use that shell and the outside of the current Christie St tracks for the SAS. It will probably be a couple of more decades before they even break ground for the Lower SAS anyway. |
