At a 2005 MOD chase, she asked me and a photog companion REPEATEDLY "Which of the five boros came first??"
(when the focus clearly shoulda been centered on the trains rolling the ROW).

At a 2001 tour of "blumbleewah" Yard... she irked the tourguide
by asking the same question FIVE TIMES about third rail power
and retiring the redbirds...

Alllllllllrighty then.

The answer would be Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and Richmond, all became boroughs at the same time. Manhattan was the first location that was New York City before boroughs were established in 1898. You could argue that Queens was #4 in that its current boundaries weren't established until 1899.

If she had that answer, would she stop asking?

I'm no doctor, but I'd say she might be autistic. I say this based on knowing people who DO have the diagnosis.

I've never met this person, and I'm sure she can severely try one's patience. Nevertheless, she's not being a jerk, she has issues beyond her control. Try to be as tolaerant as possible. I know it might not be easy.

Oh, okay. I think I ran into her on the R-1/9 fantrip to Coney in August. On the trip down the West End she sat right near me with her camera faced towards me, so I asked her if she was trying to get a better shot out one of the windows. She just smiled and sort-of chuckled and took a few photos (or maybe it was video), so I moved out of her way. No harm done, now I understand the problem, at first I wasn't sure if she was trying to be funny or what.
