Did quite a few of those ... only advantage I had was that I could toss the switches off if it was a car I was in, or was able to get to one if I was told about it.

Nope ... with the sash down and door clipped, you'd never notice unless somebody said something. The floor heater was separate from the three behind you, assuming that the cab in question had the number 1 end at the point. That's where the heater switches were, fans were on the 2 end and no heater switches in there at all. But no, on "tunnel air supply" they'd never notice.
