Ok, well so much for at least a longer C train at longer headways.I still say they shoulda kept the V and run more A trains rather than cut back the V and run A/C at partial service. But then the fools that loves their C trains so much better not cry for mommy that service sucks now. Yeah an 8-car train at longer headways over a 10-car train at decent headways was worth it for a letter and destination. |

Fact is that ridership at the particular stations served by the C has changed over the years.Fact is that weekend C trains are often crush loaded (today, in 2005). Fact is that NYCT's weekend loading standard does not call for crush loaded trains. Fact is that there is an easy way to solve the problem at very small cost. Two ways, in fact. The service pattern that made sense 70 years ago may not be the service pattern that makes sense now. There's no reason to blindly stick with a 70-year-old service pattern. |

The combined service today is 18 THP. Everybody wins here. However, 10 car C trains should be run until the C can run it's full rush hour service. |

I just saad that to demonstrate that at no time did the people running the subway feel more service was ever needed on the CPW local on weekends, even 60 years ago, when Saturday was a work day for most people. 10 car C trains would ease the problem somewhat. |

They said the hard wiring of the system to Canal, would cause them to lose control of those switches, but I guess they found a way to do it without losing control; or the source of that rumor only assumed that. |
