Thank you for some good pictures that loaded quickly.

You are being very considerate of us on dial up.

It makes me heartsick to see how 1362 has deteriorated over the years.

Sorry, I got Verizon Fios just recently.

It makes me heartsick to see how 1362 has deteriorated over the years.

Yeah, it is hard to believe that 1362 used to look like this.

The news about 2775 isn't much better. SIRT 388 though is somewhat better than before but it still needs alot of work.

I'm serious. I'm dealing with 28K bps on a dial up, and your pictures loaded very nicely.

Phone lines with DSL capability are still a mile away from me with no prospect of them getting any closer in the near future.

That latest picture is great too. I'm guessing that is 1349 and 1362 together when they first arrived at BERA. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of me riding those cars in service in Brooklyn in the 1940's and early 1950's. I can only remember.

1362 needs a friend(s) ... 1349 has some who have got her back to operating condition, including some newly turned wheel sets.

2775 also needs a friend(s) ... 388 has a group who have just about got the roof primed & top coated. The goal for this year is to start working on the sides. This is a short term, achievable, goal to keep the rust at bay & keep the elements out of the car. 388 is the most complete saved SIRT car, so she has the potential to be restored to operating condition.

I see that 1689 has at least one interim terminus sign. Does it have any interim signs from the Queens line on either of its upper side signs (Queens-Kew Gardens, Jamaica-Parsons Blvd. or Jamaica-169th St.)?

Sorry to say 1362 and 2775 are finished do to being out side so long.
1362 is now a parts donner car for 1349 and 1227 as we have no parts
for the group switches.
We don't have a shop big enough for 2775 and not enough members with
skills in heavy steel work.
The car came to us in bad shape and a lot of paint work was done but
being out side all the time is killing it.
It still can be saved but who has the money and it will still be out side even if it does get the work.
When are the TA museum AB's going to run again?????????????????????

Have the movies of them on the fan trip on the J & M line and that was a fun trip.
I was on the D type trip with all 3 sets but we had a hot box and that
made the trip back from Rockaway a bit slow.
The guys said they where using parts from the AB set to make it run.

1362 is a lot worse than the picture shows if you understand what the
damage is and what it will take to rebuild it.
This was in much better shape than 1349 30 years ago but never had a barn space to protect it.
Now it is only good for the parts to keep 1349 running.
To bad we didn't get a 1400 instead.

2775 would have to be taken back to Coney Island to fix the damage, but they would have to raise $100,000 for that to happen.

I heard the 1300 cars were pretty fast. Unlike the ones in the Transit Museum, the gate cars up at BERA look more authentic. It would've been nice if 1349 operated on Saturday. Hopefully I can get a gate car to ride in next time I go to BERA. :)

Too bad gate car 1362 is in such bad condition, I loved those old workhorses, those 1300's and the standards were great to see running, and yes the 1300's were fast cars, thanks for the great photos...maby someday I will make it to that museum. Karl M

1227 is being restored, but is operational.
1349 is operational, except for a couple of solvable issues.
She has already had a lot of structural work done (platforms, roof).
G of course has no motor issues, because she doen't have any :-)
