I also heard there was a Trans-Atlantic rail line from the US to England. Built during the 1940s. An interesting story considering the war. But I don't believe that story one bit.

SilverFox didn't post a joke, or more correctly, he wasn't trying to fool anyone. He was just making up crap in response to a question that most people here know the answer to and which said answer can be found at nycsubway.org with minimal effort. He seems to get his jollies from such things. While almost all of us knew before even clicking on the post that it would contain nothing factual (because that is SilverFox's style of late, Douce Man has not yet learned that. But that shouldn't matter, because he very well knows where that line was supposed to go. He should have realized it was BS in about 3 seconds. Instead, being Douce Man, he entertained the possibility that there was some truth to it, even though it flies in the face of all reason. THEN, when we tell him that the post was not factual, he doesn't listen to us and insists on waiting for confirmation from SilverFox. There's no hope for this guy.

He doesn't need to confirm it since it is not true. And he didn't pull a fast one because it was too outrageous to be believable. You were the only one fooled, and that was totally unintended on his part. He owes you nothing, lol.

I gave him a very respectful answer. He did not accept it. Many others gave him very respectable answers. He did not accept those. And now you think that you are so high and mighty that you can give him a much more respectable answer - one that he will accept? You might be as dumb as him.

Furthermore, the MTA has never thought of such a plan. I don't know why you wrote "probably". Anyone at the MTA who seriously submitted such an idea would have been fired before it got very far.
