The controversy is not that 76th St was or wasn't planned (it was), the controversy is if it was ever built or partially built.There was IN FACT a 76th St station on the station board at either Euclid or Court St towers (I forgot which). There is no doubt it was planed (the Fulton St Subway was supposed to go much further tna Euclid station, and it wasn't originally supposed to curve off to Grant St station. The Depression and WWII took away the money for the future expansion (as well as most of the IND 2nd System plans). |

From what I've been told by people working at Euclid and Pitkin Yard, the station was only PROPOSED. Maybe partually built.But there WAS suppoded to have been something built over there. |
