The Liberty Limited conveyed nearly 90 seriously wounded soldiers, sailors, and Marines from Walter Reed Army Hospital and Bethesda Naval Hospital to the Army-Navy Game. The train and private cars were all donated by the owners and first class services and meals were provided to the servicemen and women.

Bennett Levin credits his wife Vivian with the idea last year when they ran the first modern Liberty Limited. Bennett has a soft spot in his heart for military men and women who sacrifice so much in service to our country.

Bennett Levin and son Eric are owners of Juniata Terminal Company in Philadelphia which owns the Tuscan Red E8's and Private Varnish.

Great shots. I wish our trains still had colored liveries instead of boring stainless steel (NYC subways included).

I noticed the next-to-last Juniata car seems to have no exits at either end of the car. I know it was common for long-distance cars to have doorways at only one end, but I couldnt remember seeing one with no doors. What are the rules about that?

I don't know what time it left, but a friend called me around 7:30 and said he heard something about it on his scanner.

JT train leaving WAS around noon Sunday is the guestimated first approximation.

It’s a club lounge and was used as a before and after dinner holding bar next to the dining car. Both would only be handling passengers when they were coupled to other cars. It also has buffet space for light snacks.

Thank you for your support, but Brian's right. I tried changing ISO for subway pix and they came out no better than the ones for which I didn't change the ISO.

I'll have to dig out the instruction book to try shutter priority.

With shutter prioritry the photos would have come out darker but not blurry. They could then be lightened up on your computer.
