Today's R160 Hunting! |
|
Posted by Kriston Lewis on Fri Aug 18 16:18:09 2006 I went R160 hunting today. After a lot of waiting, and a close encounter with cops, I caught it northbound at Queensboro Plaza. And then as soon I was in the first car, I saw a [no offense] fat kid with a video camera. He kept talking and talking. He sat next to me. I'm pretty sure he was the guy you all were talking about. I was even more sure when we were close to Queensboro Plaza and he saw R32's. He cried out: "Ohmigod; Arr thirty twoooooooooooo's!!!". I could not hold my laughter. I craked up. I tried to cover it up by "talking" on my phone. His companion (his dad, I think, he did say "dad") kept looking at me. What really sealed the deal is when we arrived at Queensboro Plaza on the upper level cause of a GO. He said: "We're on the wrong track! Crappy McCrappers!" Crappy McCrappers. I give up. He got off at QBP, and said in a whiny voice "We're leaving the R160?!?! NOOOOOOOOOO!" All the way on the left. The both of them got off at Queensboro Plaza. Moar photos soon. |

We've got one in Baltimore that's 46 and is wacky about the local buses. He'll go ballistic over the newest Flyer in the bus fleet. His picture is under the glass at the William Donald Schaefer Tower, the MdTA headquarters. He is known to 90% of the bus operators and close to 100% of the line supervisors. LRV operators are known to pulling the screen curtain down over the center cab window is he's on the car.A Lieutenant of MdTA Police once remarked "If you wear a uniform, you know him." He claims I'm his "best buddy". The only salvation is he will never get on the World Wide Web. He's afraid of computers. |

YUP.He's a cashier (strangely, he's very good with the visitors and never comes out short or over. He even gives telephone directions to the Museum correctly or asks someone in the office if he can't give the proper directions (like navigating a visitor who is totally lost in Baltimore's somewhat odd street layout)strange but true). He does continue to talk about our long time Superintendent of Transportation (10 years deceased)who he accuses of keeping him off the platform. we keep telling him to drop it, but.... |
