The Eighth Avenue Subway opened on September 10, 1932. In order to commemorate the 50th Anniversary the TA held a ceremony at the 57th Street – 6th Avenue station on September 13, 1982 and invited guests rode a four car train of museum Arnines (S-1802-800-381-1440-N). The next day the train ran in passenger service on the 8th Avenue Line between 59th Street and the World Trade Center. It was the first time that the Arnines had run in passenger service since March 31, 1977.
