It should also be mentioned that today (June 28, 2026) is the last day of racing at Aqueduct Race Track, long served by the A train; after which, it will close its doors forever, and another era in New York history coming to an end. One wonders what will become of that station now that Aqueduct will no longer be. |

I remember them from 1969-70, when they carried SS-Shuttle signs. For a while, the TA had SS shuttles that ran when their corresponding regular route wasn't running. The 3, 5 to Dyre Ave. and Moe come to mind. Then, of course, you had the full-time shuttles: 42nd St., Franklin Ave. and Culver when it was still around. |

On that day IND service to the Rockaways over the former BMT Fulton St. line and the former LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch began using R1-9 cars due to a shortage of power distribution equipment. |

Station definitely stays to serve the Resorts World casino, which is expanding and includes a new hotel. A covered walkway connects the A train platform to the casino entrance. |
