1986 – from The Book of First Runs

This is the first day of service for the R-62A subway cars on the No.6 Lexington Avenue Line.

2018 – from The Book of Special Runs

The NYCTA held its fourth annual “Parade of Vintage Trains” over the weekend of June 16-17. Three vintage trains ran on the express tracks of the Brighton Line between Kings Highway (Track A4) and Brighton Beach (Track A3). All passengers boarded at Brighton Beach as the doors did not open at Kings Highway.

The three trains consisted of one “B” Type (n) 2390-2391-2392, one “BU” Type (n) 1404-1273-1407 and The Trains of Many Metals: (n) R-16 6387, R-40 4280-1, R-38 4029-4028 and R-10 3184. A four train of “D” Types was scheduled but 6112 was not able to leave the yard. Sister 6095 was stationed at the south end of track A4 at Brighton Beach as a static display.

The rail fan community was well represented by Mr. William A. Padron and the ageless Tunnelrat.

2018 – from The Book of First Runs

A new train service known as CT Rail begins operation between New Haven, Connecticut and Springfield, Massachusetts. This service known as CTrail supplements the existing Amtrak service.

Me and my son were there as well! Back when I wasn't tired of the route.

The 58th St spur on the 6th Ave el ran as a non-rush hour shuttle. Rush hour locals ran to Rector St. Some 6th Ave locals from 155th St short-turned at Franklin St, during rush hours. After the 58th St spur was closed, rush-hour locals no longer used Franklin St as an intermediate terminal.
