MN Harlem Line News

Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Tue Jun 2 10:37:39 2026

I was over on the Harlem Line and there are some developments at the Brewster North / Southeast Station. A parking garage is being constructed on the east side of the station.
It will have a capacity of 1000+ cars. The street which current leads to the station from I-84 is called Independent Way. This roadway will now cross over the tracks on a bridge and connect to the new garage. Once this is done the former parking lot will be closed and Put Junction Yard will be expanded into this area. This work is projected to be finished by Spring 2027.

Metro-North still operates the M-3A MU’s. They are a few train-sets on Hudson Line but it seems that the majority of the cars are on the Harlem Line.

Put Junction Yard will be expanded into this area

Is this just to improve storage capacity for the Harlem Line or is some old trackage up there actually being revived (wishful thinking on my part, no doubt)?
