It is excluding games in Japan. The season is starting too early. Too many people are still enthralled in the NCAA Basketball Tournaments (aka March Madness) when the season starts. I have long advocated to move back the start of the season to the Saturday after the Final Four (usually second Saturday in April) with two games that day: THE traditional opener in Cincinnati in the afternoon and the WS champions opening at night with everyone else opening on Sunday. That is about getting back the casual viewer more who ignores baseball because the season starts during March Madness and then when that ends the season has already started. I would do this even if it means the World Series is in mid-late November in frigid conditions. |
