Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Thu Mar 19 08:44:27 2026 Tuscarora Almanac for March 19 1873 – from The Book of Last Runs Morris Street Station on the 9th Avenue El is closed. The station became redundant when the line was extended southward to No. 7 Broadway the previous January. 1954 – from The Book of First and Last Runs Hi-V Motors are assigned to the Dyre Avenue Line replacing the last of the IRT Gate Cars. The Dyre Avenue Line in 1954 ran as a shuttle between Dyre Avenue and 180th Street (NYW&B station) at all times except nights. It was assigned route No. 9. 1958 – from The Book of First Runs A free transfer point is opened between Park Place on the IRT 7th Avenue Line and Chambers Street /Hudson Terminal on the IND 8th Avenue Line. This transfer point was extended to include Cortlandt Street station on the BMT Broadway Line on December 29, 2017. NOTE: Hudson Terminal station is today called the World Trade Center.
