Kathy Hochul vs. Conductors

NY is a one-party state. There is no reason for Hochul to support local unions because Democrats win big in NY anyway.

There’s a big difference between enshrining two-person operation in state law forever, and letting the process play out via collective bargaining as other workplace staffing issues are.

While I personally prefer having two staffers on each train, it says something that in the vast majority of rapid transit systems in the world, OPTO is the rule (and works well).

This proposed law is the worst example of unions rent seeking and shows why support for unions has plummeted.
