I know the last ones in Manhattan came off in 1946.It's a shame, and surprising, that there are none in view because the bBoadway line lasted until December 15, 1946. Many other TARS Manhattan routes ran into 1947. |

Granted it looks like they are lining up for some great movie(s), but I still can't shake off that the first thing I noticed when I opened the photo is hundreds of people crammed onto a sidewalk so the 20-ish cars can be nice and comfy. |

That's part of why I'm surprised that the "walk to the left, stand to the right" on escalators took on in London. I think of the ones walking as "passing" and on a London street you wouldn't be passing on the left. |
