IIM< 2399 was the lone single A car in that entire gourp of early standards.

I wonder if 2330 met its end at the bumper block at the south end of one of the relay tracks. There was at least one other wreck involving an AB Standard at that location.

The BMT standards met their match, it seems. How many other times did they get into altercations with semi tractors, station buildings or I-beams and come away with noghint more than scrapes and bruises?

The only wreck at Broad Street of any notoriety that I recall was when R-16 6494 hit the block during a relay and had to be scrapped. It was replaced in the roster with R-11 8010.

I read that 8010 had to be modified so it could run with other SMEEs, what exactly did they do to it?

Were the S.I.R.T. M-1 and Philly cars as strongly built?

I was never able to figure out what sort of “modifications” needed to be done because AFAIK operationally it was a standard state of the art SMEE like the R-10s.

8013 ssems to run just fine now as part of the Museum's Borgascmhord Train. I wonder if anything was done to it. I do remember Train Dude mentioning it was a SMEE right from the start.
